Since taking office in 2003 Bob Magee has fulfilled his commitment to voters by making Public Safety the City’s #1 priority.
The Law Enforcement budget has doubled from $4.6 Million in 2003 to more than $9.2 Million in 2008 and the City revived their Public Safety Advisory Commission in order to better serve its residents. Our response times have improved and our crime rate is down.
The City added 4 new motor patrols to keep thoroughfares moving safely and efficiently. Overall traffic collisions have been reduced by one third and fatalities by one half over the previous year.
In 2003 the McVicker Canyon Fire Station was completed and paramedics joined the firefighters in the rigs for the first time ever. In 2005 the Railroad Canyon Fire Station opened and next year the Rosetta Canyon Fire Station will be completed.
